Sterling Clark
Owner & Operator, RMC Exteriors
10+ years in the roofing industry. Xactimate certified. Sterling personally oversees every project from first inspection to final walkthrough — you always know who made the promise and who's making sure it's kept.
Why I Started RMC Exteriors
I got into roofing because I saw an industry that was broken. Too many contractors selling roofs people didn't need, using materials they'd never put on their own homes, and disappearing the moment something went wrong.
I spent years learning the insurance side of the business — not just how to install a roof, but how to read a policy, write an Xactimate estimate, and advocate for homeowners who were getting shortchanged by their insurance companies. I invested in the same software the adjusters use — at a significant annual cost most contractors won't commit to — because I believe homeowners deserve someone in their corner who speaks the same language.
RMC Exteriors isn't trying to be the biggest roofing company in Colorado. We're trying to be the one you trust enough to refer to your neighbor. That's a different kind of business — one built on doing 20-30 roofs a year with the kind of attention and materials that most companies reserve for their showcase projects.
Every roof gets my personal attention. Every homeowner gets an honest answer. And every project gets the same materials I'd put on my own house.
That's not a tagline. That's how I run my business.

How We Operate
These aren't values on a wall. They're decisions we make every day — even when they cost us money.
Honesty Over Revenue
We've told homeowners they don't need a new roof when other contractors were pushing a full replacement. That honesty costs us jobs in the short term — and earns us referrals for years.
Quality Without Compromise
We use Owens Corning and GAF products exclusively. Synthetic underlayment, not felt paper. New flashing, not reused. Ice and water shield in every valley. The materials matter as much as the labor.
Owner Oversight on Every Project
Sterling personally oversees every project with a trusted, vetted crew. That means the person who made you a promise is the person making sure it gets kept.
Small by Design
We choose 20-30 roofs a year — not because we can't handle more, but because every project deserves our full attention. Scaling for volume means accepting shortcuts, and shortcuts have no place on someone's home. The best surgeons aren't the busiest ones. They're the one's who don't compromise precision over volume.
Comparing Roofing Quotes? Read This First.
Not all roofing estimates are created equal. When you're comparing quotes, you need to know what's actually included — and what's being left out to make the price look lower.
What to Ask Every Contractor
- What brand and line of shingles are you using?
- Are you using synthetic underlayment or felt paper?
- Will you replace all flashing or reuse existing?
- Is ice and water shield included in all valleys?
- Will my roof be properly vented with both intake and exhaust?
- What warranty do you offer on workmanship?
- Are you licensed and insured in Colorado?
We welcome the comparison. When you line up the details, you'll see why our clients choose RMC.
